Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, admits that competition between clubs in this year's English League competition is more difficult than in previous seasons.
Mata who is undergoing his sixth season at Manchester United feels the 2019/2020 season is more difficult than before.
The Spaniard, who has played at Chelsea, thinks the competitiveness of clubs in the English League is getting stronger.
"I think all clubs are developing and clubs like Leicester are recruiting players well and they have good players who can take them to another level. Not long ago they became champions, so they know how to win," Mata told Sky Sports.
"Football is becoming more difficult now because all clubs are developing and able to bring in good players. So you have to perform better every season to try and achieve goals," explained Mata.
MU is currently ranked 12th to the eighth week. The Red Devils are only able to achieve two wins from eight matches. Mata and friends are now closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League zone. MU will face a big test in the ninth week of the English League, by facing Liverpool at Old Trafford Stadium. Failure to win can make MU increasingly mired in the bottom of the standings. Responding to the condition of the club that failed to compete in the top flight at the start of the season, Mata hopes the young players will fuel the team to rise up in subsequent matches.
"We have young players and sometimes I see myself [in young players]. I remember at the age of 18 or 19 at Valencia I had a hard time because I didn't play much at first but then there were senior players "That's what I think, experienced players should help young players," Mata explained.
